It is hard to believe that in November we celebrate our 1st birthday, and what a first year it has been! When we gained our CQC approval in November 2019, none of us imagined that along with the obvious challenges that arise when starting a new business, we would also have a pandemic to contend with.

COVID 19 has certainly created a few bumps in the road (as all in the dental profession will agree), it’s meant rethinking the way that we do things to keep our patients and our staff safe, and as a private practice, with very little financial support. Despite everything that 2020 has thrown at us, the team at Bristol Dental Specialists are celebrating this important milestone and we are so proud that we have had a year to remember positively.

When we first opened, we couldn’t wait to welcome patients and dentists to our beautiful ‘home’, located in a renovated grade II* listed building on Berkeley Square in Clifton. Bristol. We held an extremely successful opening event for visiting dentists which allowed us to introduce our Specialists and present the comfortable, high quality environment that the practice offers. We could also demonstrate some of the advanced digital equipment that we use, including a state-of-the-art CBCT Scanner and 3shape TRIOS intraoral scanners, to help us give patients the best possible diagnosis, treatment options and results.

The practice has continued to expand the Specialist team. In January Rebecca John, Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry joined, followed in February by James Ban, Specialist in Restorative Dentistry. Specialist Prosthodontist Rachel Tabor arrived in June, and Lyndon Meehan our Specialist in Endodontics started with us in July.

Our online presence has evolved, perhaps quicker than anticipated, and with a forceful push from Covid, we leapt into the future with webinars, and video consultations, The everchanging times we live in has also highlighted the importance of digital marketing, leading us to change some strategies to keep the business moving forward.

What 2020 has showed us is what a great team spirit we have, we have remained focused and dedicated and have continued to pull together to make the new practice a success. We are also continually grateful for our very ‘patient’ patients! Against all the odds Bristol Dental Specialists is thriving, and we have come through our first year stronger than ever.
